Zuiko Launches Nursing Care Project

Hygiene machinery maker partners to market self-cleaning diaper system

Zuiko Corporation is working with fellow Japanese machinery manufacturer Maruka Corporation, to promote and sell equipment developed by Promote, Inc., that automatically removes excrement from diapers of patients in nursing care. The collaboration includes joint investments in technical and engineering support.

Finding that more than 62.5% of caregivers said that changing patient diapers was the most difficult part of their job, Zuiko decided to collaborate with Promote, Inc. to help improve the environment of both care givers and receivers. The fully automated minelet system is connected to a specially designed diaper. Sensors sense the existence of excrement, the excrement is automatically suctioned, warm water is used to clean the area and a blower is used to dry it. The system is also able to log patient data.

As this project continues to develop, Zuiko will continue to actively invest technology and its business to provide effective solutions in the field of nursing care, and contribute to realizing a more sustainable society.
